Our first home adventure (15 days after we moved in!) was a surprise backup of our sewer drain in the basement.  Yuck!  An emergency call to the plumber to remove the "block" resulted in our asphalt driveway being ripped up and the entire sewer pipe being replaced.  Also a large chunk of the basement carpet and some drywall was removed by the insurance remediation team to prevent bacteria growth.  The result was a big mess!

The good news is that the new sewer pipe was fixed within a day! But the driveway and basement are still a work in progress. Stay tuned for updates on how we fixed up the basement and hopefully the plumber will be back to fix our driveway (because the gravel patch is sinking!).
